Introduced prior to the opening of the Chicago Auto Show, the all-new 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is a much more spacious and versatile Toyota SUV that will fit between the current three-row Toyota Highlander and the larger Toyota Sequoia. The impressive new Hybrid MAX powertrain is part of a trio of available engines
We'll start under the hood of the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander where we find a trio of available powertrains, a gas engine and two hybrid engines.
The entry-level gasoline engine will be the same one that powers the current Highlander and was introduced last year. It produces an impressive 264 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The next available powertrain is a 2.5-liter hybrid engine found in the current Highlander, which averages 7 L/100 km.
The highlight of the new 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is without a doubt the new Hybrid MAX powertrain. This very powerful engine combines the aforementioned 2.4-liter turbo engine with an electric motor to deliver an impressive 362 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. All the interior space you need
The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander offers more interior space than the current Highlander, and it also offers more available cargo space. With 2,775 liters of total cargo capacity behind the first row, you have about 400 liters of additional cargo space over the current Highlander. Most of that extra space is behind the third row where, according to Toyota, seven pieces of carry-on luggage can be placed. The second and third rows will also be very accommodating, with Toyota saying that even adults will be very comfortable in the third row on long trips.
The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander will be offered with space for eight passengers as standard, with optional captain's chairs for the middle row.
Premium comfort and connectivity in the 2024 Grand Highlander
The 2024 Grand Highlander will not only be spacious, it will also be very luxurious. It boasts a wide range of standard and available features, such as heated front and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, leather seats, 10-way power front driver's seat and 8-way power passenger seat, panoramic sunroof and dual-zone climate control. Eighteen-inch wheels are standard on the base XLE, but the Grand Highlander will also be available in Limited and Pinnacle trim levels, which receive their own set of 20-inch wheels.
