The 2021 Toyota C-HR is an excellent choice in its segment. Backed by Toyota’s renowned reliability and value, the C-HR is an urban vehicle that offers plenty of versatility for all types of activities during your daily commutes as well as on the weekends.
The Chevrolet Trailblazer is back for 2021, but unlike what this nameplate was known for in the past, the new Trailblazer falls short in terms of performance and capabilities. Moreover, Chevrolet made compromises under the hood that could compromise the Trailblazer’s reliability over time. Here, we compare the 2021 Toyota C-HR with the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
A more reliable powertrain in the 2021 Toyota C-HR
The Toyota C-HR is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 144 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission that ensures potent accelerations and low fuel consumption.
On the Trailblazer side, two small three-cylinder engines are available. The first one is a 1.2-litre unit offered in most models. It develops 137 horsepower. The second engine is a 1.3-lire unit with 155 horsepower. Not only is the Trailblazer's base engine less powerful than the C-HR’s offering, it's also a very small displacement turbocharged engine that could show premature wear.
In addition, the Trailblazer is much less fuel efficient. With a city rating of 8.9 L/100 km and 7.8 L/100 km on the highway, the Trailblazer is more expensive to own than the C-HR, with ratings of 8.7 L/100 km in the city and 7.5 L/100 km on the highway.
The Toyota C-HR is a much safer option
All models of the 2021 Toyota C-HR lineup include the Toyota STAR Safety System which has important safety features. But Toyota also included standard Toyota Safety Sense system throughout the C-HR lineup.
Technologies like Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Road Edge Detection, Auto High Beam, Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection and Bicycle Detection are included in this standard package. Some of this equipment is available with the Trailblazer, however, most of them are part of optional packages.
The Toyota C-HR not only offers better value than the Chevrolet Trailblazer, it is also safer and more fuel efficient. You can buy your Toyota online with us. Our representatives await your call and can answer all of your questions.
