The Toyota RAV4 is a hard-to-beat compact SUV in its segment. It represents by far the best value for money, but with the reliability, technology, comfort and superior amenities that come with it.
Today we compare the RAV4 to its eternal rival, the Honda CR-V. But we're looking at the base models to demonstrate how the RAV4 is the real winner in every way, even in its base variant.
The 2021 Toyota RAV4 LE FWD delivers better value
The Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V both start at similar prices in their base variants. However, the RAV4 offers a lot more for your money. For example, the headlights on the Toyota RAV4 use LED technology, while the CR-V is still in the halogen stage. The base RAV4 is equipped with the Blind Spot Monitor with Lane Change Assist, a feature that is missing in the base CR-V.
Full-range dynamic radar cruise control with Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) is also standard on the RAV4, while it is absent on the base Honda CR-V side.
Also, rear passengers of the RAV4 will be pleased to know that they have more head and shoulder room than those in the rear of the CR-V.
The 2021 Toyota RAV4 LE FWD outperforms its rival
When it comes to performance, the Toyota RAV4 is a winner, with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 203 horsepower with 184 lb-ft of torque. The CR-V is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops just 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque.
This is not only disadvantageous from a driving point of view, but one must consider the proven reliability of the proven RAV4 engine. On the other hand, the 1.5-liter CR-V is notorious for its oil dilution problems and other flaws.
Finally, the Toyota RAV4 is armed with a strong and reliable eight-speed automatic transmission. The Honda CR-V has a much less reliable continuously variable transmission.
In the end, the Toyota RAV4 LE FWD offers many more technical advantages than the 2021 Honda CRV, all complemented by undisputed reliability. You can buy your Toyota online with us. Our representatives await your call and can answer all of your questions.
