The Toyota Highlander has long been the preferred choice for drivers who need a reliable and versatile SUV. Among other improvements for 2023, the Highlander receives the Toyota Multimedia system. With a choice of gasoline and hybrid powertrains, the Highlander is sure to meet your needs. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new for 2023.
All-new gasoline turbo engine
For the 2023 Toyota Highlander gasoline models, a new higher torque turbo engine will be offered. Compared to the 3.5L V6 engine it replaces, the 2.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces a maximum horsepower of 265 horsepower and 309 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
In addition, Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive system will equip the 2023 Highlander Hybrid models, which combine an engine with two electric motor generators and an electronically controlled CVT transmission. This system develops 243 horsepower for a combined fuel efficiency of only 6.7 L/100 km.
Toyota Multimedia System
The 2023 Toyota Highlander comes with a brand new technology package that includes the Toyota infotainment system. The best thing about this system is that it uses Toyota’s brand new interface, which improves the interaction between people and the vehicle through sight, touch and voice. Thanks to this new interface, it is very easy to control many functions of the car via the touchscreen using the same gestures as the screens of mobile phones. As a result, the 2023 Toyota Highlander is ahead of the game in embedded infotainment systems.
