Just one model year after its arrival at dealerships, the Toyota Corolla Cross underwent major modifications for the 2023 model year.
The main change is the addition of a hybrid version, available in two versions: Hybrid SE and Hybrid XSE.
Both versions receive Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, which allows the Corolla Cross Hybrid to develop 194 horsepower while consuming only 6.4 litres per 100 km combined cycle. That’s not nothing, considering the cost of fuel these days!
Standard equipment in the SE version includes 17-inch wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen, LED headlights and taillights, heated front seats and even gear shift paddles and a sport suspension. The XSE upgrade adds 18-inch wheels, Softex synthetic leather seats and an electric driver’s seat. In addition to all this, there will be the choice of four two-tone colour combinations for both trim and six exterior colour choices.
While the addition of a Corolla Cross Hybrid is great news, non-hybrid models have also received a boost. All Corolla Cross models are now equipped with the latest Toyota infotainment system, faster than the previous one, with a more responsive touchscreen, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless features. In addition, the system now features over-the-air (OTA) updates as well as a "Hey Toyota" voice control system.
With this simple phrase, the Corolla Cross can help users find points of interest such as restaurants or petrol stations, adjust vehicle functions such as air conditioning and heated seats, and you can even contact a live specialist with Destination Assist if you need help discovering the amenities available at a specific destination.
Finally, all Corolla Cross models will also receive the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 as standard. This includes a pre-crash warning system, dynamic radar cruise control, pedestrian detection, automatic headlamp adjustment, lane alignment assistance, road signage assistance and more.
