Toyota sales increased sharply last month, especially hybrid vehicle sales and SUV sales.
Toyota Canada saw overall sales increase 10.4%. Growth was largely driven by hybrid vehicle sales, which rose 59.8%. The Toyota Prius saw its sales climb 105.4%, more than double the sales of August 2018. The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid recorded 1,249 models in August, 80% more than the same month last year.
The traditional-engined RAV4 increased by 16.8%, the Highlander increased sales by 3.7% and the Toyota 4Runner has seen sales increase by 26.3%. Other Toyota models that did very well last month include the Toyota Corolla (+ 5%) and the Toyota C-HR (+ 19%).
