Unveiled at the last International Auto Show in New York in April, the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback has just arrived on the market. Replacing the Corolla iM, the Corolla Hatchback offers a sportier styling, more dynamic handling and more cargo space.
“Corolla is an icon, and Canadians love hatchbacks, so what could be better than combining the two?” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “Drive it and discover the thrill of fun-to-drive performance that lives up to this hatchback’s striking design, plus advanced yet user-friendly technologies that keep you connected with the things that matter, no matter where life takes you."
A New platform for the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback
The 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback is surprisingly fun to drive. At the heart of this performance is the new TNGA platform that allows for a lower and wider look that leads to a sportier ride, better comfort and more interior space.
Toyota has combined a 168-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with this platform. While power is superior to most other hatchback models in the compact segment, fuel economy is the most amazing feature of the Corolla Hatchback lineup.
Indeed, the Corolla Hatchback has an average fuel consumption rating of just 6.7 liters per 100 kilometers, nearly a liter less than the old Corolla iM. Better yet, the Corolla Hatchback is more economical than the majority of its current rivals, if not all of its rivals.
It also offers a host of standard safety technologies, another exclusivity in the segment. You get the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 system that includes adaptive cruise control, automatic braking with pedestrian and bicycle detection, lane departure warning with automatic steering assist and more. The new, easier-to-use Entune 3.0 multimedia system is also standard.
