Toyota hasn't just redesigned its bZ electric SUV for 2026; it has added some serious bite with a new version called the Woodland. This edition redefines adventure for the electric era.
The 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland is now available at Toyota dealerships across Canada. This all-electric SUV is the most robust in the bZ lineup, and it shows. With a combined output of 375 horsepower, standard all-wheel drive with X-MODE, 215 mm of ground clearance, and an estimated range of up to 452 km, the Woodland is designed for families in Laval who want an electric vehicle that can keep up with their lifestyle—summer or winter—when they decide to leave the city to explore nature.
The bZ Woodland is the third electric vehicle in the Toyota lineup, alongside the standard bZ and the new C-HR. But where its cousins focus on urban efficiency, the Woodland adds a more adventurous vocation without sacrificing comfort or technology.
Two electric motors (one at the front, one at the rear) generate a combined net output of 375 horsepower. According to Toyota’s estimates, the bZ Woodland can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. The lithium-ion battery, with a total capacity of 74.7 kWh, is housed flat under the floor, lowering the vehicle's center of gravity and contributing to its stability in corners.
The standard X-MODE off-road driving system optimizes power distribution between the wheels based on the terrain. At low speeds, Grip Control adjusts power to maintain a constant speed on unstable surfaces—a real advantage in the conditions Quebec drivers know well, with long winters and occasionally difficult roads.
The bZ Woodland is equipped with a NACS (North American Charging Standard) port, making it compatible with Level 3 DC fast-charging stations. Under ideal conditions, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. The 11 kW onboard charger supports Level 1 and Level 2 charging, and a standard dual-voltage 120V/240V cable is included for easy home charging.
Additionally, the model features a battery preconditioning system. This is a practical addition for Quebec winters: the system warms the battery before you arrive at a fast-charging station, improving charging speeds in cold weather. This function can activate automatically when a charging station is set as a destination in the navigation system.
The bZ Woodland is available in two versions:
bZ Woodland (MSRP: $59,900): includes heated SofTex fabric front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, Qi wireless chargers for two smartphones, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, and a 14-inch touchscreen for the multimedia system.
bZ Woodland Premium (MSRP: $64,900): this version adds a 9-speaker JBL audio system with an 800W amplifier, ventilated front seats with radiant heating, a fixed panoramic glass roof, a digital display rearview mirror, and memory settings for the driver's seat.
All-terrain tires are available as an option on the Premium trim. With this option, the estimated range is 418 km. Roof rails come standard on both versions, making it easy to install a cargo carrier or bike rack.
The interior of the 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland is spacious, offering generous legroom in both rows. When the rear seats are folded down, cargo volume reaches 2,120 litres. The Toyota Multimedia system, displayed on a 14-inch touchscreen, is standard. It features wireless compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and allows two phones to be connected simultaneously via Bluetooth.
Safety is managed by the TSS 3.0 (Toyota Safety Sense 3.0) suite, which includes a Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and a Panoramic View Monitor with Multi-Terrain Monitor, making maneuvers in tight spaces and on rugged terrain much easier.
